TAILS OF HOPE!

"Don't hate me because I am beautiful!" (Besides, beauty is only fur deep.) My name is Lucy, and I am a 4 YOF Dogue de Bordeaux. Simply stated, I'm a French Mastiff. I have yet to look in a mirror (I'm beautiful, not vain), but I have been told I am a real and true redheaded beauty. Plus - I am very, very sweet. I have to tell you a sad story. Recently, I had a litter of 11 puppies and all my puppies died because I was very sick with mastitis after they were born. I was unable to produce enough milk to keep them alive. I was so very saddened and confused when all my babies died. I was frantically looking for them, but one by one they were taken and tossed aside. I want to tell you a happy story. One life was spared that tragic day - mine. Because I was no longer needed to produce puppies, I was given away to National Mill Dog Rescue. I am recuperating at the kennel and in the loving care of the volunteers who have fallen head-over-heels for me! And I have fallen head over paws for them! I love all people! I must say, this whole thing called love and kindness is wonderful and contagious. I LOVE LIFE! I also love to be petted, walked, explore the great outdoors... I need to tell you my history story: At the risk of sounding like John Tesh (I love him too), "Did you know..." The Dogue de Bordeaux (that's me), the most ancient of French dog breeds, is an even-tempered, protective by nature, vigilant but without aggressiveness, devoted, calm, well balanced, intelligent dog (that's me!)... Isn't this just great about me!? Now I need a family to show my heartfelt devotion, love and loyalty. Will you be my family? The good people of NMDR want you to know that I have a slight heart murmur (Grade 1), but it will not require medication and there is no restriction on my activities. I will be spayed and have a dental before I go home with you. When you adopt me, all your family and friends will become so jealous that you have the most beautiful dog in the world. Every day I am told how beautiful I am. I just smile, wag my tail, and let everyone know "Life is beautiful." Please ask for me (or all my canine friends at the kennel); patiently waiting for you!
Love, Lucy. JN10-20

If you've ever suspected a breeder of running a puppy mill, there's now a toll-free hotline you can call to report it: 1-877-MILL-TIP. The Humane Society of the United States, who launched the hotline hopes it will help free more dogs from the abusive conditions at these illegal breeding facilities.

I just found this cool website Check it out!

This is what a bad economy will do to you!

" Take my pups. You will raise them and call them Dog. They will be your guardians. They will alert you to danger, keep you warm, guard your camp, and even lay down their life to protect your life and the lives of your children. They will be companions to you and all your generations, never leaving your side, as long as Mankind shall survive. In return, you will share your food and the warmth of your fire. You will treat my children with love and kindness, and tend to them if they become ill, just as if they were born from your own belly. "  First Man and First Woman agreed. ... Before she disappeared into the darkness, she turned and spoke once more to First Man, "My children will honor the pact for all generations. But if Man breaks this pact, if you or your children's children deny even one Dog food, warmth, a kind word or a merciful end, your generations will be plagued with war, hunger, and disease, and so shall this remain until the pact is honored again by all Mankind." With this, First Dog entered the night and returned in spirit to the Creator.

  A PET'S TEN COMMANDMENTS.........

1. My life is likely to last 10-15 years. Any separation from you is likely to be painful.

2. Give me time to understand what you want of me

3.. Place your trust in me. It is crucial for my well-being.

4.. Don't be angry with me for long and don't lock me up as punishment. You have your work, your friends, your entertainment, but I have only you.

5. Talk to me. Even if I don't understand your words, I do understand your voice when speaking to me.

6. Be aware that however you treat me, I will never forget it.

7. Before you hit me, before you strike me, remember that I could hurt you, and yet, I choose not to bite you.

8. Before you scold me for being lazy or uncooperative, ask yourself if something might be bothering me. Perhaps I'm not getting the right food, I have been in the sun too long, or my heart might be getting old or weak.

9. Please take care of me when I grow old. You too, will grow old.

10. On the ultimate difficult journey, go with me please. Never say you can't bear to watch. Don't make me face this alone. Everything is easier for me if you are there, because I love you so.

~Take a moment today to thank God for your pets. Enjoy and take good care of them.

Life would be a much duller, less joyful experience without God's critters.

Rock-a-holic Meeting Here!

Heart just played up in Denver and now KKFM wants to fly you away to Las Vegas to see Heart. Text Heart to 62582! Now time for a fun fact. Although sisters Ann and Nancy Wilson moved to Vancouver in 1974, Bellevue Washington claims the sisters as their own. The Wilson sisters were originally The Army then White Heart then they finally shortened their name to Heart. The girls were in a major legal battle between Mushroom records and Portrait records.
